Matriarch of Meadowlark

I guess that i am the matriarch of Meadowlark so decided to get with the new generation and blog! It probably won’t be as exciting as the rest of your blogs because I have a pretty mundane life!!  I spend a great deal of my time working in the Meadowlark yard, trying to keep it as beautiful as Sam did.  What a chore, but I love the outdoors (you get it from me , Renee- I don’t look a day over 70.) Tending the garden(oh, the joy of  a tasty homegrown tomato!)  and of course, all the hundreds of beautiful flowers (what  a marvelous gift God has given to us to enjoy in the form of a flower. It certainly is a masterpiece of nature.  I also spend several hours each week designing and creating note cards that I stamp and add various embellishments. They are given out at Molly’s Angels annual Christmas Party every December. I make over 1800 cards each year so it is an all year project.  Making the cards is a artistic and fun way to spend my retirement years, as well as doing a little something for others.  I have just recently signed up to volunteer at the Napa Food Bank by helping to sort, package and distribute food to people in need. Will have my interview next week.  Well, I must sign off now and see if I can figure out how to get this posted.  Hope I did everything right!!!

Renee’s summer musings…

Welcome to the Pedley’s renewed commitment to blog…we’ll see how long it lasts!

We are having some wonderful Minnesota summer weather and I just got home from a little 12 mile bike ride around the neighborhood. I think most people in Minnesota will say that fall is there favorite season, it seems to be when we have some of the nicest weather. But I will always be a summer girl, I just can’t help it, I love the sun! I will probably look like I am 90 by the time I am 60 years old but what fun I am having now! I go for days on end without the top being up on my car…now that’s a happy time of year for me.

Travis started a new job today at the subway right near our house (as oppsed to his job at the subway 8 miles away). He took a pay cut to switch but with the cost of gas what it is he makes up the difference by work only being 3 blocks away. He is just a titch under 6 feet tall and I cannot believe how fast it is going!

Elaine turned 15 two weeks ago. She is beautiful and loves the summer sun just as much as her mom! She has been working on staying in shape for Track and is proud of her new found running talents! She is also set to be the next design star of the house and is redecorating the downstairs bathroom…I do have veto power on all decisions! She redid her own room this last winter and it is really beautiful.

Onjya is having a very active summer and is probably browner than she has ever been from all the running around the neighborhood all day long. Right now she is rearranging her bedroom and basically emptied it out and started all over!It is refreshing to have someone around the house who still asks like a kid enjoying a summer day!

Chuck and I are great even if we don’t get enough time alone! Our tandem rides this year have been very few, but we truly cherish those that we get.

I hope to figure out pictures soon….

Sonshine

Sonshine was so much fun. I wish that it was longer than it was. It was from July 17th- July 20th. While I was there I met someone new and we became friends. His name is Jeremiah, I don’t know a ton about him, but I do know very little about him. I don’t feel like talking about Jeremiah right now, I would rather talk about how much fun I had at Sonshine. Sonshine is in Wilmar, MN, it was really hot there everyday but really warm/cool at night time. On our last night there which was July 19th everyone that I went with at church at at Sonshine stayed up like really late where you couldn’t fall asleep at all. I was so beat that night that I fell asleep right away. I bought a Flyleaf cd and it came with a bonus DVD. One night it rained, and some of peoples stuff got wet, apperantly my phone got wet. So I am going to buy myself a new phone, which is going to be really hard cause I am in debt with my parents with the phone that I have right now. I already found a phone that I like a lot, but I am going to be doing a lot of things/stuff so I can get paid to: 1: pay back my parents for my phone and 2: save up money so that I can buy a new phone. That is going to be really hard, but also fun cause then I will be able to get allowence after I pay back my parents.
