Matriarch of Meadowlark

I guess that i am the matriarch of Meadowlark so decided to get with the new generation and blog! It probably won’t be as exciting as the rest of your blogs because I have a pretty mundane life!!  I spend a great deal of my time working in the Meadowlark yard, trying to keep it as beautiful as Sam did.  What a chore, but I love the outdoors (you get it from me , Renee- I don’t look a day over 70.) Tending the garden(oh, the joy of  a tasty homegrown tomato!)  and of course, all the hundreds of beautiful flowers (what  a marvelous gift God has given to us to enjoy in the form of a flower. It certainly is a masterpiece of nature.  I also spend several hours each week designing and creating note cards that I stamp and add various embellishments. They are given out at Molly’s Angels annual Christmas Party every December. I make over 1800 cards each year so it is an all year project.  Making the cards is a artistic and fun way to spend my retirement years, as well as doing a little something for others.  I have just recently signed up to volunteer at the Napa Food Bank by helping to sort, package and distribute food to people in need. Will have my interview next week.  Well, I must sign off now and see if I can figure out how to get this posted.  Hope I did everything right!!!

You did a great job on your first blog! It is so great to just hear what you are doing with your day! I do a card club with girls I work with and we have to make 8 cards a month (then we pass them around so we get 8 different cards) I find it hard to keep up with that…I cannot imagine 1800!! Tomatoes are not ripe yet here but while I do not have a garden of my own I do enjoy the farmer’s market and donations from friends for all the fresh summer veggies.

Welcome to cyberspace! It’s really not as dark and scary as they say.
I have to say that you posted an awesome blog! I tell the kids all the time that it may seem mundane to you, but it really is interesting to all of us who can’t see you every day. It definitely shortens the miles. I’m looking forward to you next piece of work.
    Chuck
