Shari

As most of you are aware , Shari and Fred were in a horrible car accident. She is hospitalized with major injuries, in a hard Body frame that is helping to stabilize her so the fractures in her neck and shoulders can heal.  The device is wrapped around her body and begins at her waist and goes all the way to up under her lower lip. It makes it difficult to pronounce her words but she is very determined and trying hard to mend, knowing she has many days ahead of her that will be filled with physical theraphy.  When Sam was very ill, Shari begged on the Family Blog for people to send him cards  of encouragement. You will never know just how good it made him  feel to  know that people in the Lawson Family cared about the horribe S—, he was going through. He recieved Cards, letters , phone calls and Gifts. It was so special and gave our hearts Hope!!! Some of you were extremely generous and I will forever be gratefull.  Now, it is Shari’s turn.  Please send her some kind of encouragement. It takes very little time out of your day to do something special for those who need it.  After all, you never know when it might be you who needs some cheering up.   Love you, all  Carol

Such a Small World, Such a Big World

The world feels incredibly big and incredibly small all at once this week.
We heard the horrible news out of Bejing yesterday of the American who was stabbed to death. While this happened a world away it happened to a man who lives in Lakeville, Minnesota. The Lakeville city line is less than two miles from our house. This man’s grandchildren go to school with my children. How can something that is so far away seem so close.
And then the news from home this week that my sister Shari and her husband Fred have been in a horrible car accident. And now something that has happened right here in America seems oh so far away. You realize the vastness of our country when you want to just get in the car and start driving to your family and realize that is just not practical because it will take you three long days to drive there…
Please pray for my dear sister and her husband. Shari’s injuries are very serious and she will be in the hospital for a long time and recovery for a very long time. We are so thankful for her life! Pray for us Pedley’s as we deal with decisions about getting family members to California and the cost associated with that.
This world is oh so small and oh so big all at the same time!!

My oh so interesting life

Well, my parents asked me to blog about the things going on my life,

So I apologize for how boring this is.

There’s really nothing going on in my life right now. I have four days left of driver’s training, then I’ll have my permit. Which doesn’t change much. I already know how to drive, I can just do it legally now. I’ve started playing my piano again, and I would realllllly like a nice piano, rather than the crappy little keyboard that I have, but my parents won’t buy me one >:( As my mom told you, I’m redecorating the downstairs bathroom. So far, I don’t even have all the old wallpaper off of the wall, it’s impossible. So this is going to take me a long time. The theme, is “beachy and airy” :) Leila has inspired all of us from her hilarious antics about her new beachy and airy room way back I was last in Oregon. I got a new camera for my birthday, and it’s really nice. I brought it to Sonshine, and got some really great pictures. Last week, a really close friend of mine, Melissa, moved all the way to Arkansas, because her dad got a new job out there. It was really sad, but another friend, Amanda and I took her out to a nice lunch before she left. We got all dressed up and pretended like it was Melissa’s birthday at the restaurant so that we could get free cake out of it. I took lots of pictures that day too, so that Melissa would have a nice memory to go out with. School starts soon, I’m really not excited about that. I don’t mind school that much, it’s just dumb that school is starting so early this year. Well, that’s really all that’s going on in my life right now.

Hope to see you all soon,

Love, Elaine
